The Garden Hotel

I had heard through other adoptive family blogs how amazing the Garden Hotel is.  I knew we were in for a treat, and would be staying at a wonderful hotel for the tail end of our trip.  We were not disappointed...it was amazing!  In fact, we were quite a little jealous of the families who got to stay there for the whole trip! (This happens when your child is from Guangdong province which is the province where Guangzhou is located.)

The lobby is amazing!  It is huge, beautiful and features this amazing inlaid gold wall with Chinese art.  The indoor floral arrangements were stunning as was the outside garden area.  They will get a post of their own!

The Garden Hotel also has an amazing aroma....it smells so good in the lobby!  This was a welcome change from our stinky, smoky provincial hotel lobby!

Our room was fantastic!  We thought our room at the Huatin was pretty nice too, but this blew it out of the water!  We were on the 16th floor and happened to be the last room on our wing.  It was so quiet here. You can't hear any street noise or neighbor noise.  Our guide did tell us that in Guangdong, drivers are not to honk their horns unlike the other uncivilized provinces :)

Our room had a separate living area complete with desk, couch, chair, tv and an armoire that held all the drinks, refrigerator, cups, etc....

our little kitchenette in the armoire;
many a ramen noodle and PB & Js were fixed here!
The bedroom was very nice, and had a comfy bed.  Actually our bed at the Huatin wasn't too bad either. China beds are notorious hard, but luckily, the beds we slept in were nice!

The bathroom was gorgeous.  I loved this cherry blossom tiled wall.

There was an automated window shade to allow for privacy since the bathtub window overlooked the bedroom.

Even the elevator waiting area on our floor was pretty!

Our room was all the way down on the left.
We had a great view out of our window.  We overlooked the main road that ran in front of the hotel. Across the street is an upscale shopping area with the Friendship Store.  Unfortunately, I never had a chance to venture out and explore all the shops around the Garden.  Jeremy went several times to the Aeon store to pick up a few groceries and diapers.  It was several blocks away.

Guangzhou is a very beautiful city.  There is lush green foliage every where!  Even growing along the highways and on the highway overpasses!

So wish we could have spent more time in Guangzhou.  I said to Jeremy as we were leaving Changsha that our time in GZ would fly, and it did.  It was wonderful to spend that time is such a great hotel too!
