Shopping, Pool and Irish Pub

After our consulate appointment, our guide Helen took us to an arts and crafts shop that specialized in better quality gifts and souvenirs. We bought Ava 2 dresses, and then I found a beautiful vase. This vase had a phoenix on it, and we found out that the artisan who painted the vase also has Feng in her name! This woman paints right in the store. All of the porcelain vases were beautiful, and so thin that light shines through them. I managed to talk Jeremy into getting it since we had only bought Ava one thing in her province. I had hoped to find something that represented her name!

At this store they had lots of jade and ivory carving for sale, along with huge porcelain vases.

While at the store, they also had a tea tasting ceremony. I missed most of that because we were finishing up getting our vase packaged.

After shopping, we headed back to our hotel, had some lunch in our room, and then headed to the pool. We weren't quite sure how Ava would do since our first pool experience wasn't the greatest. But she loved it! Probably helped that we didn't have to wear swim caps.

Here is the Garden's baby pool. It was very nice. Had wide steps that stepped down into a deeper part.

That evening we met up with 5 other adoptive families and went to a nearby restaurant. It was an Irish Bar, and was very good! It was so fun to hang out with these families, hear their stories and laugh together! So glad we got a picture after dinner to remember our time, and see all these precious kiddos with their forever families! Several of these families I was "friends" with on various Facebook adoption groups, and we had traveled through our adoption paperwork together. Meeting all these families and seeing them with their children was definitely a highlight of our time in Guangzhou!
