Hong Kong July 3rd

For our return trip to Hong Kong we stayed at the same hotel as several other LL families. This time we were much closer to the harbor and the Kowloon attractions. The Harbour Plaza Metropolis was nice but much smaller than the Garden Hotel. One cool thing about our Metropolis room was that we had a balcony with an amazing view and cool outdoor wooden tub. There were only 6 rooms like this!

View from our room!
We considered doing a little shopping in the morning, but were tired and just wanted to veg out a bit. So we went to the awesome pool for a bit. Ava loved it, and enjoyed playing in the little fountains.

Little lady, Big world!

After another lunch in our room, Ava took a good nap. We had plans to meet a former University of Evansville colleague who now lives in Hong Kong. Johnny had agreed to met us at 3 pm, and take us to Stanley Market. We were excited to see him and do some exploring with a local!

Waiting in the Lobby for our friend Johnny Poon to arrive.

Stanley Market is located on the back side of Hong Kong Island, and is so different from the harbor side. It had a completely different vibe; so beautiful and resort like.

Stanley Market is large open area market with many different types of gifts and souvenirs. We got a few more little things, and just really enjoyed our time talking with Johnny and learning more about the area. Stanley Market is located on this small harbor that is just beautiful. The water color was amazing. There were several popular beaches close by.

We also walked out to this pier that had been relocated from another part of the island. The architecture of it was beautiful!

Looking back at the Stanley Market Shopping Area

Also located near Stanley Market was a temple to the Goddess of the Sea. We went inside to check it out.

For dinner, we headed back via taxi and subway (in which Jeremy had some problems with his subway ticket and couldn't get through) and ate at the Chinese restaurant in our hotel. Johnny had actually lived in a suite at our hotel for several years when he first moved to Hong Kong. He said he ate at this restaurant quite a bit. It was very good, and we had a splendid time! We so appreciated Johnny taking time away from his busy schedule as Music Department Chair of Hong Kong Baptist University to visit with us and show us the sights.

Ava needed a bath from her messy dinner so we decided to give the wooden outdoor tub a try! She thought it was fun!

The night time view!
One more sleep until we head for home! We really miss the boys and can't wait to be united as a family of 5!
