Whirlwind week!

Whew! What a crazy whirlwind week! On Monday at 6:15 pm, after waiting 27 days, we learned via email that our Travel approval had arrived. We thought the quickest we could leave would be last few days of June, and get Ava on July 1.
On Tuesday, we found out gotcha day would be Monday 6/24 which gave us 2 days to make all our arrangements and pack! Our agency was amazing and made sure that everything was arranged.

We had many people praying for us, and The Lord definitely sustained us and gave us peace. We had a bit of a travel delay in Chicago. Our plane was delayed 5 hours, but they eventually worked it out. We might be the only people who thought those 5 hours were a blessing. We still had a few loose ends to tie up...cancel the paper, find VPns that work, create a prayer list for friends and just relax.

Not sure what we will do while in Hong Kong. It is raining pretty good this morning. We need to do some research and find out how to get around and where to go.

Praising and thanking God this morning for safe travels, that our luggage arrived, that we feel rested and not weary, and for a wonderful email from an ICC worker. Praising God that while it looked like it could never happen, we traveled on Jeremy's birthday. I found out that Ava had her farewell party on Thursday too! Thanking God for the bible verse of the day which was "for I know the plans I have for you," declares The Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

Please continue to pray for us, for Ava, and for our boys. We miss them very much.

  5. Jeremy & Erin,
So glad to hear you arrived safely in Hong Kong. We will continue to pray for you and your endurance. We will pray for Ava as she grieves all that she has ever known and pray she will feel all the love you have in your hearts for her. Thinking about where you are in your journey right now brings back a flood of emotions from our trip to bringing Emma home, even after 2 years. It really is the most emotional, sacred experiences of my entire life.
I'll be so anxious to see and hear every detail. Keep the communication coming the best you can, I know it's not so easy.

    Much Love,
Matt, Shawna, Eli, Ethan and Emma
