Jeremy filled up, and I managed to eat some. The pineapple was delicious and I also had some fried noddles that were a little spicy but soooo good.
Jeremy even showed off his chopstick skills. At breakfast we talked about what we could expect Ava's reactions to be like, and watched the kids playing and exercising at the neighboring school. Jeremy shared that the bible verse he read that morning was "love is patient, love is kind...." How appropriate for our Gotcha day!

After breakfast we ran up to get our bags, prayed together, and headed back to the lobby to quickly tango with the boys. We hadn't had a chance to let everyone know our gotcha day schedule. Our guide arrived 15 minutes early, and we headed to the civil affairs office. By this time, I was quite calm and Jeremy was very nervous! The drive to the civil affairs office was about 15 minutes.

Once upstairs, our passports and some paperwork was checked. Then we waited for Ava to arrive. We learned that they had taken the train up from Hengyang that morning.

A map of china in the waiting area.

Pictures and notes from families and children adopted from Hunan.
