Frog Follies

This past weekend Evansville hosted the 35th annual Frog Follies car rally for street rods which were built before 1947. I had no idea that this was such a huge event. I took the boys so that we could get out of the house while Jeremy finished demolishing the kitchen and foyer tile. We left early to "beat the crowd" but it was already incredibly busy when we arrived at 8:30 a.m. We spoke with one couple, and he told me that there were 3200 pre-registered cars, and they were expecting up to 5000 cars! In addition to all those cars, they also have a huge swap meet with anything that you would need for your car. Trevor brought home a street rod hot wheels and a hot wheels dump truck as a souvenir in addition to the 3 large leaves and a piece of bark which he found.

This is a 1934 Ford that came all the way from Texas. It was a very pretty car, and I liked their sign. Not many of the cars had signs like this, and you had to look in the windshield to see the car information.

Loved this big red car..don't know what it is. This event was very overwhelming because there were so many cars. Had I known a little more about cars or been with someone who knows a lot about cars, I'm sure it would have been very educational.

We did try to talk to some owners, and one owner Joe from Louisville, KY was nice enough to allow Trevor to sit in his red 1932 Ford.

This was one of the last cars we saw before heading up to the swap meet to find Trevor a souvenir and take a break from all the walking around. After our snack break, Daddy called to say that he had finished demolishing, and we headed home to help clean up all the tile.
