Flooring - Part Deux

YEAH!!! Our floors are finally finished! Brett, the installer, finished at around 1 pm this afternoon. Now all we have to do is caulk all the baseboards, fill in the baseboard nail holes, paint touch up, re-hang coat closet and laundry room doors, and move furniture back....the end is nearly in sight.

For a little refresher of what our floors look liked before:

This flooring remodel process has gone smoother than I expected...although it has had it moments. It was great that the kids were able to sleep through all the banging and commotion. There was only one day where Trevor didn't sleep because Brett was working on the top flight of steps. I think it is remarkable that we were able to keep our schedule intact.

  2. WOOHOO!!! They are done! And they look AMAZING! I too can't wait to see them in person! Pushing a dust mop across each step as opposed to hauling a vacuum is going to be a blessing.
I bet Trevor has lots of stories about having Brett at his house doing his floors! Can't wait to hear them.
    You picked well.

  3. I have been wondering what the status of things was over there! The floors look great and I know you must be completely thrilled (to have them and to have the work over with!). Can't wait to see them for real...

  4. SIMPLY BEE-U-TEE-FUL!!!! The entryway is gorgeous . . . what a warm feel it must give the house! I have one question for J . . . but I think I'll ask it later :)
    Glad the project is done!

  5. I am SOOOOOOOO totally jealous!!! What beautiful floors. I love my laminate floor but when scratched there is no fix. I would love to do the whole house in the engineered floors -- much easier to keep clean and lowers the allergy risk also. Loved the Ohio pix too! We were so glad to get to visit with you and snuggle the baby!!

  6. Great look and a great job of preparing for the new flooring and keeping your sanity! I'm quite proud of how you as a family are able to do things together and are not timid about trying out some new things. When you get a chance I'm eager to see some recent pictures of two of my five handsome, gifted, etc. grandsons! Love you! Dad/Papa
