We took our first family vacation to Orange Beach, Alabama after hearing about it from some friends. We had been considering taking a vacation, and after hearing their rave reviews, we decided to look into it. We decided to go because it was a driveable distance, and we knew that Trevor loved the ocean from our past visit to Florida. After some research, we booked a privately owned condo on the beach for the week of May 1-8. We split up the drive down and back, and the boys traveled well. After having gone, we can't wait to go back. It is so beautiful down there!

We arrived in Orange Beach (about 2 miles east of Gulf Shores) around lunch time, and were able to get into our condo right away. Unfortunately the weather wasn't the greatest when we arrived. It was warm and muggy, and very overcast with rough seas. That didn't deter us! We quickly found our swimsuits, and headed to the beach.

What is this stuff?

I like the beach!

Usually every evening, we would take a walk on the beach. We decided to look and see if there were many shells on the beach near our condo.

Evan LOVED riding in the back pack;
not sure Daddy loved carrying him since he is so heavy!

With dogged determination, Trevor
set out in search of sea shells!

Having fun staying away from the waves!

Erin, keep up the blog posts. It it so much fun to see the pictures and to read your words. It's not as good as being there but it sure does close up the distance. The last five posts of birthday, museum, and Orange Beach were wonderful and a delight to view and read. We really enjoyed our recent stay with y'all. Love you very much! - Papa and Meemaw
