1st Birthday celebration

We were excited that Aunt Kirsten and cousins Gavin, Adam and Isaac could drive down, spend a few days, and help us celebrate Evan's 1st birthday. We didn't tell Trevor that they were coming. So imagine his great surprise and excitement when he woke up on Saturday to find his cousins at our house!

6:45 am - an EARLY play session

7:30 a.m. - crazy dancing to a Sesame Street CD;
even Evan thought they were silly!

While Evan took a morning nap, we took the cousins to the Rivertown trail that opened earlier this spring. We walked a ways down Water Street to an area with steps down to the river. Unfortunately, the river was high and access to good throwing rocks was limited. So we headed back to the trail, and had fun throwing "whirly-birds" off the bridge, watching them fly and land in the creek.

We stopped and watched this big barge pass - it had 15 flats of coal;
This barge also honked his horn at us! The Mills brothers
seem to bring us good luck in getting the barge captains to toot their horns!
