My 1st Garden

I have been chomping at the bit to get some seeds in my new garden. It seems that the weather is supposed to be more mild this week. Last week we had several cold nights that included frost. Here's to hoping that that kind of weather is behind us. So today I planted my 1st Garden!

1st row of Spinach

Spinach seeds - they are tiny little things!

I managed to get 4 rows in which took up about half of the garden. I still have sugar snap peas and broccoli to plant. I'm also planning on ordering some sweet corn, and will buy tomato and pepper plants. We have many rabbits and deer in our area who have already nibbled on my hostas. Jeremy and I will have to come up with a fencing plan this weekend to keep the critters out.

Can't wait to see if my first garden is a success!

  1. Of course it's going to be a success!!! You have the "BEST GREEN THUMB" of anyone I know...something that you and I have always had in common. Remember the "Rock Garden?" I get a "backache" just thinking about it but did we ever have fun? And you have 2 "precious little helpers to pull weeds!" Can't wait to see pictures of our precious Trevor and Evan with their cute little behinds in the air!!! LOL, Mom aka Nana

  3. Did you plant 4 rows of spinach?? The boys will have to set up a table at the Farmer's market to sell it all!! Looks just like the rows your Dad always set up with the string & posts to keep 'em straight! Can't wait to hear about the bounty!
    Love you - Mom
