The boys have had several opportunities to celebrate Easter recently. Our neighbors invited us to brunch on Palm Sunday, and after lunch, they had an egg hunt and visit by the Easter Bunny. Trevor is still enthralled with any large character, and ran immediately to the Easter Bunny for a hug.
At Trevor's pre-school, they had a Easter party on Wednesday. When I went to pick him up, all the kids had pink noses, black whiskers and bunny ears. They were sooo cute. Trevor also brought home his bunny wind-sock that they had made recently, and had to hang it in his room.
On Sat, April 7th, our township sponsored an Easter Egg hunt for kids 2-10 years old. The boys got to love on another Easter bunny at this event!
I was glad that they split the age groups up, and did not allow parents onto the "course." They also allowed the kids to only pick up 7 eggs to keep it fair. Evan was in the youngest group, and found his final 7th egg with a little help from Trevor.
Trevor's age group was 5-7 years old, and he had no problem finding his 7 eggs quickly.
Jeremy and I had fun putting together the boys Easter baskets. They had lots of small, fun things like play dough, Angry Birds figurines, two T-Shirts, coloring book, and some candy. The boys were very excited to get their baskets on Easter morning.
After church, we headed home and hunted eggs. The boys wanted to wear their new Angry Birds shirts!
I am so proud of my boys and the fact that they know the reason why we celebrate Easter. It's not about the Easter bunny, even though, they loved seeing the Easter bunny. Evan, even at the age of 2 1/2, can tell you that "Jesus died on the cross, but then he rose!" I am so glad that my boys understand this Truth at such a young age!
"For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath, but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ." 1 Thessalonians 5:9
