Just call me Martha!

Jeremy bought me the Pampered Chef Deep Dish Covered Baker for my birthday along with a new large pizza stone. I've used the covered baker several times to make different dishes. The one I was most proud of would have made Martha Stewart envious! I made from SCRATCH a chicken potpie. The dough was from scratch, the sauce was from scratch and I even cooked up chicken breasts just for this creation. I had never made dough from scratch so I was a little nervous about how it would turn out. It was quite good, and so pretty I had to take a picture.

In addition to these cooking adventures with my new bakeware, I've been making from scratch baby food for Evan. Trevor really enjoys helping me out. At first I thought it would be a pain to make food, but it is kind of fun to come up with new combinations of fruits and veggies. Plus I feel like this baby food is better for him since I know exactly what is going into it. I can get 8-10 baby food containers out of one blender which comes out to about 20 cents a serving. Quite the bargain compared to 45 cents at the grocery.

Some of our recent creations include: Mangos & Berries (Raspberry, Blackberry and Blueberry), Apple/Strawberry/Banana, Pear & Pineapple, Ham & Apples, Mixed Veggies & Chicken. Evan LOVES any fruit, and I have been surprised that he even likes the berries with their seeds.
