Christmas Day - Part I

We woke up early on Christmas Day to finish loading the car for our trip to Ohio. Trevor welcomed us with shouts of "Merry Christmas Mommy! Merry Christmas Daddy!" We had two smaller gifts for him to open (Rosie the engine and two DVDs).

Christmas morning presents

We made good time to Ohio due to little traffic. We were all excited to see Aunt Kirsten and Uncle Jeremy's new house. It is a beautiful, renovated farm house that sits outside of Ithaca, Ohio and is very close to where we grew up. This farm has been in Jeremy's family for many, many generations, and it is such a blessing and so cool that Jeremy and Kirsten get to live there and raise their family! The house has all been updated and was move in condition. Outside they have a large yard, beautiful flowerbeds and several barns.

After getting a tour of the house, we had a yummy lunch of ham, potatoes, salad, rolls and dessert. Soon after lunch, Great Grandparent Norman and Loretta Anspaugh arrived for the afternoon.

Watching all the kids open their presents was very fun, and it was special to have Grandpa Norman and Grandma Loretta there. They said several times through out the day how much it meant to them to share the day with all of us, and how they had looked forward to this day. One of my fond childhood memories is of when Grandpa Norman would spend the night at our house on Christmas Eve and be there with us on Christmas Day.
