Trevor's latest antics

I thought I would dedicate this post to Trevor and some of the recent things he has done or said.

On Sunday, July 5th, Newburgh held it's fireworks display, and Trevor got his wish to ride on the town owned trolley that he calls "Thomas." You should have heard him when he saw "Thomas" drive near the pick up point. He was so excited! We had some time to kill before the fireworks so we walked back to the pick up point and rode Thomas again. (The second ride was not as fun as the first as there were several very drunk guys near us.)

Trevor's first ride on "Thomas"

I'm excited that we recently purchased a double jogging stroller. This will allow me to get out for walks with the boys during the day. Trevor was equally as excited when he saw the box, and promptly played in the box once we got the stroller put together. A week later, the box is still in our family room getting daily use!

We have recently begun the process of potty training. Trevor doesn't mind sitting on the potty (little one or big potty), but he hasn't managed to do anything on the potty. Maybe this weekend we will have some success?!?!

Some of Trevor's recent antics include showing his deep devotion and care for his brother. We were surprised when, on our first joggging stroller ride, Trevor would reach over and lay a hand across Evan's chest any time he heard a car approaching! The above two pictures were taken yesterday, and show how Trevor enjoys hanging out with Evan. I had laid Evan on the coach, and the next thing I know, Trevor announces to me that he is he going to lay beside Evan to keep him company. Of course, he loves it when Evan is there to greet him after his nap and requests that Evan lay on his bed with him.

Some of the silly things Trevor has said or done recently are:
  • After asking politely for a sippy cup of lemonade, he declares "that's tasty!" Neither Jeremy or I say that phrase so we don't know where he came up with that one!

  • After hearing an explanation about something, and he agrees, he will say "Sounds good!"
  • Almost daily Trevor impersonates Jeremy by telling me he is going to the office. Usually he has some toy tucked under his arm like a briefcase, heads through the dining room, and back to the family room. He then announces "I'm back!" I then proceed to ask him about his day, and he usually tells me about how he fixed the crusher. (One of Trevor's favorite activities is to visit Daddy's office and crush breakers. Unfortuntely for a time, the crusher was broken. This seemed to make a big impression on Trevor since he is always saying he fixed the crusher.)

  • We have said that Trevor has a mind like a steel trap. He has impressed us recently with his sense of direction. On a Saturday evening we went to church, and came back to Evansville via a route he has never taken before. This route happened to take us past Jeremy's office. Trevor realized where we were and said "go to Daddy's office?" He also has memorized his first bible verse, remembers titles of books and key words. Below is a short video I took of him "reading" about Thomas. (At one point he says - "Terrance the tractor is hard at work" and ends with "the end")

  1. Erin/Jeremy,
This is a great post on your blog- thanks so much for enabling us to keep up at least weekly to the changes in your lives with Trevor and Evan. What a joy they are to me even from a distance! Love, Dad/Grandpa Eric
