Another Ohio Visit

Soon after we returned home from our Ohio State Fair visit, we learned that Grandpa Norman was not doing well.  His health had been deteriorating, and he had been in the hospital.  A few days later he passed away.  While we were sad that he is no longer with us here on earth, we could celebrate that he is in Heaven.  Grandpa Norman loved Jesus, and he shared his faith with many people.  His funeral was a celebration of his life.  It was neat to reflect on his life, hear stories about him, about his transformation after accepting Christ in his life, and how he changed for the better.  Many people were touched by his life because of his Christian walk and testimony!

It was good to be together as a family prior to the funeral to enjoy each other and support each other. Mom and Dad took us all out to Olive Garden for dinner.  What fun that was!!!!  At the end of dinner, Trevor, Evan and Adam had a staring contest.

What a hoot!

It was a gorgeous evening so after dinner we all went to Carriage Hill Metropark.  There is a fishing pond with a trail that goes all around.  We walked the trail, enjoyed the sights, and ran off some kiddo energy!
Gavin was a great babysitter!

Wished I had my good camera....
would have been a perfect backdrop for some photos!

Queen Anne's lace
On the far side of the pond there was a swing, and we got some cute pictures of the cousins/grandkids all together!

Ava had a blast walking and playing with Gavin.  Here she was holding Memaw and Papa's hands while Gavin would run back to her.  She was giggling and having the the best time!

On the way home, Ava had her first milk shake.  I think she liked it!

It was a long ride home, and we had to make a stop back at the outlets to return Trevor's tennis shoes. We had stopped there on our way to the funeral, but realized when we got to Ohio that the shoes were too tight.  While Daddy was in the store making the exchange, the boys stretched their legs and played on some of the ride on toys at the outlet.

I know that Grandpa would be happy that even in the midst of some sorrow and tears, we were able to enjoy our family time and celebrate the legacy of family that he helped create.
