Kindergarten Open House

On Tuesday October 2nd, Trevor's school had an Open House.  Trevor was excited to show us around and for us to visit the book fair!  We first visited his classroom and saw his "locker."  Each morning the kids put their backpacks and coats here.  They also keep their crayon holders in their locker space.

Across from Trevor's locker was his self portrait.   I particularly liked how he attempted to put his whole name.  It says "TrevorWoooooScMit."  He does know how to spell his last name; not sure what happened there!

Trevor's classroom is very cheery and colorful.  They have different activity areas like the science center, calendar area, & reading area.  Besides the in-classroom activities and learning, they weekly go to gym, art, library and thinking class.  Thinking class develops their logic and critical thinking skills to help them develop into life long learners. They also have been tested for pre-reading skills, and go to another teacher's room for reading based on their skill level.

Trevor really enjoys art, and we noticed his primary color piece hanging in the hallway.

Within the last few weeks, we have discovered that Trevor has two loose teeth; a top one and bottom one.  He doesn't seem to mess with them much, and told me the other day "I'll just wait for it fall out on its own."  On the other hand, he has also told me "I don't like these baby teeth; I want big teeth."  I asked why, and he said "I want big teeth so I can be in charge!"  That one made me laugh!

  1. So hard to believe that "TrevorWoooooScMit!" is in school...And tell Trevor that Daddy's last name was "Schimdt" for a very long time!!! Typo on his birth certificate and it wasn't until he "tried" to get his driver's license, that we found out!!! That was a real experience but just another fun memory...Love you! Debby
