Strasburg Railroad

Trevor was very excited about riding the real train as were the rest of us. I had never ridden in an old fashioned passenger train. The Strasburg Railroad does a special Christmas train beginning the weekend of Thanksgiving. It was pretty busy! They had carolers outside the ticket area, two brass players on the train playing carols, and Santa visited all the children on board!

beautiful woodwork and stain glass windows

waiting to leave the station!

hanging out with Papa and Memaw

waiting patiently for Santa to come our way!

Santa gave small present to all the kids;
Trevor received a flashlight and Evan got a slinky!

This was fun!

The train ride was about 45 minutes long, and we got to see some pretty Amish countryside. We also heard the train blow its whistle a lot! Trevor had a really great time, and tells everyone that he got to see Santa (imagine spoken with a wonder filled child's voice!).
