Evan's 5th Birthday - Jedi Training Academy

Today we celebrated Evan in grand style by hosting a Lego Star Wars themed birthday party.  We had 13 kids total, and it was a blast!  The invitations invited his friends to join him in a Jedi Training Academy.

The first mission in their training was Light Saber Training.  Here they used light sabers (made out of pool noodles and crafted by Daddy) to keep balloons in the air.

Their next mission was a Jedi Training Course that started at the Ewok Village!  Don't you love how Daddy transformed our swingset?

Ewok Village...the kids LOVED this!
First the young Jedi had to climb up into the Ewok Village, and slide down through the hidden tunnel. They then had to carefully make their way across the swamp via stepping stones (bricks).......

and go through the worm hole (tunnel covered with black tarp)!

Once out of the worm hole, they had to jump into the portal (baby swimming pool).  This idea was courtesy of Evan.

After their safe passage, they had to run across the yard and throw laser balls at the Death Star!

To complete their Jedi Training Course, they had to avoid asteroids (thrown balls) in the bounce house and then battle Darth Vader!

Whew, I'm just tired from typing that all out!  These Jedi were tough and had lots of energy!

Their next mission was Blaster Gun training.  Here they had to shoot their dart guns at the storm trooper!

Once accomplished at Blaster Guns, they headed over to bomb the Death Star.  Some of the kiddos helped us finish decorating the Death Star.  Then it was time to bomb it to smithereens!

Ready, Aim.....FIRE!

Death Star obliterated!
All that training was creating some hungry Jedi!  They headed inside to find lots of Star Wars inspired food.

No birthday is complete without the singing of Happy Birthday with some cha-cha-cha's thrown in. (Ava loves the cha-cha-cha part!)

After being fortified, the young Jedi were ready for their final task.  Defeating the Death Star!  Each Jedi had several turns at attacking the Death Star.  They finally overtook it with some final hits from Trevor and Evan.

Evan's friends were so sweet to bring him many varied and cool gifts.  He received Legos, games, play doh, and some fun activities we can do together!

I think they all had fun!
Happy 5th Birthday Evan!  We love you so much!  It was fun to celebrate you today, and we thank God for you every day.
