Easter

Easter 2014 was a extra special this year having Ava home.  Thinking about Jesus' resurrection, we are so thankful for His empty tomb and Ava's empty orphanage bed because both were CONQUERED by LOVE.  Adoption has blessed our family so much just as God's adoption of us into his eternal family has blessed us beyond comprehension.

Sweet Kiddos!
We did not go crazy on Easter Baskets because we want the kids to understand why we celebrate Easter; it's not about candy or presents.  It's about Jesus being our sacrafical lamb,  raised to life, conquering death.  We did get each of the children one small toy but first they had to find their baskets which were hidden in the yard.  The boys quickly found theirs.

What am I looking for?

Oh, here it is!

After that, we hunted for eggs throughout the yard.  Ava loved looking for and finding the eggs.  We even had one empty egg for each of them to symbolize Christ's resurrection.

"The angel said to the women,'Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.  He is not here; he has RISEN, just as he said."
Matthew 28:5-6.
