Two milestones on Christmas Eve

Today is a very special day in our family!  1 year ago today, Ava's file for adoption was written and prepared in China for her to be matched with a family.  1 year ago, we were praying fervently for our daughter asking the Lord to protect her and make her clear to us.  6 months ago today, we welcomed her into our family as a beloved daughter and sister.  God's timing is perfect!  We stand in awe and gratitude for the gift He has given us, and for the work that He did to bring her to us.  Who else could orchestrate these events for her file to be prepared on Christmas Eve, for us to be matched with her several months later, for us to receive her on June 24th and be celebrating 6 months with this little wonder on the exact date her file was prepared.  Only GOD!!!  This leaves me teary, humbled and with a lump in my throat to think of what He has done.

We enjoyed a quiet day at home today playing and being together.  We attended the 2:30 pm Christmas Eve service at our church, and it was special to worship together as a family.  The tears were flowing when I looked over to see Ava had moved from Daddy's lap to Trevor's lap.  Her brothers prayed for her throughout our adoption process, and love her to pieces.  So amazing to see them together and loving each other.  These six months have flown by, and it feels like she has always been here.

Having fun posing in my Christmas dress

So blessed by these three!
Reminded again today that God's timing is perfect:
in our lives and in the sending of His Son Jesus to be our Savior.

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,
who have been called according to his purpose."  Rom 8:28
