Trevor milestones

Trevor has reached some big milestones in the last month. He has successfully learned to go on the potty, and is doing great with very few accidents. He also started swimming lessons last week. He continues to keep us in stitches with his silly antics and sayings. Some of the recent ones include:

These are my slip slides = These are my flip flops
This is my "snow glub" = snow globe
I rode the "caraself" = carousel
I need my privacies = please shut the bathroom door

Trevor is becoming much more independent, and has learned to put on his own socks and shoes. I recently realized that I don't need to be constantly lifting him in and out of the car - he is perfectly capable of climbing in and getting into his seat himself. This was a good realization on my part!

Trevor wanted a mustache made with electrical tape!

Trevor made most of this elaborate train track himself.
I only need to help him connect it under the chairs.
I was pretty impressed with it, and so was he!

Prior to vacation, we told Trevor that when we returned home, he was going to learn to go on the potty. He was ready, and so were we! On potty training day 1, we stayed home all day, and finally after dinner, he went pee on the potty. We were so excited! Our neighbor even heard us hooting and hollering! We had a "Bibleman" figurine in hiding since Christmas as the reward for going on the potty. Afterwards Trevor exclaimed "I did it all by myself! That wasn't so bad!"

It was about another week before Trevor figured out going #2 on the potty. But once he did, he was very excited. We had ordered a Thomas the Train toy called "Ned," and Ned arrived on the day that Trevor accomplished this major feat!

Our local high school has a brand new natatorium that is wonderful. The local swimming club has swim lessons, and Trevor is really enjoying them. He isn't exactly fearless in the water, but he is learning to kick properly and become more at ease. We still have 2 more weeks of lessons so I look forward to seeing his progress.

What a physique!

Trevor has always astounded us with his memory. We recently checked out a book from the library called "Cherry Pies and Lullabies." At the end of the book was a page with the music and words for Brahms' lullaby. We sang it for Trevor a few times, and he learned the words and the music so quickly. Below is a video of him singing it with a little interuption. I think this video shows off his personality!
