Evan ~ 15 weeks

Evan is 15 weeks old today. We saw Dr. Blanke (our family physician) yesterday because Evan caught the cold Trevor and I had a few weeks ago. I thought Evan was getting better, but he seemed to have relapsed over the weekend. He is on an antibiotics now, and that will hopefully kick it. He has a nasty sounding cough - poor little guy! We did have a bit of a scare when in the Dr office they couldn't get a good reading on his blood oxygen levels. They sent us to the local ER to have it taken with a machine more suitable for babies. Luckily his numbers were fine...but it was rather disconcerting when the doctor starts using words like "we may have to admit." Makes me thankful for having healthy kids minus the occassional cold!

On a positive note, he now weighs a WHOOPING 16.7 pounds. He has gained 2.3 lbs in 6 weeks! Oh my goodness! We will still see Dr. Blanke in a few weeks for his 4 month check-up.

Evan still enjoys sitting in the swing and watching what we are all doing. He especially loves to watch Trevor. Here Trevor has been kind and shared Bosi with Evan!

Evan hasn't rolled over yet, but he has been working on it. He has really started to kick his legs, and I have caught him getting up on his side when laying on his back.

We took this picture yesterday as it was Evan's first "ride" in the exersaucer. At first he liked it until Trevor started spinning one of the bead filled cylinders. It makes quite a racket, and I think it scared him. Evan continues to be very talkative and alert. I've posted this video of a recent morning when he was particularly chatty.

  1. So glad that nothing transpired of the run to the ER. That is a very unnerving experience for sure.

We all LOVE the look on Evan's face in the picture of him in his seat with Trevor beside him! I still cannot get over how expressive he is with his face!

    See you soon! Love- Kirsten

  2. I/we cannot wait to see all of you in a few days. Enjoying so much, even from a distance, the pictures and the phone calls and conversation with Trevor. We'll have lots of fun in the couple of days we'll be together. Love you!

  3. You're boys are just so fun to watch; I feel like I'm right there! I'm so glad that you share their growing moments with all of us too far away to see them regularly. I love hearing their little voices.

  4. Glad everyone is enjoying the blog...it is fun to put together. It is fun to share what is happening with the boys and in our lives plus it serves as an electronic scrapbook so that I can look back at what has happened and how the boys have changed. The other day I was comparing Evan's 12 week pictures to his 15 week pictures. I also love to hear your comments about what you like in the pictures! Keep 'em coming! Love you all!
