Earlier this week, we passed the 4 month mark of being a family of 5! It feels like Ava has always been with us as she fits in so perfectly!
We are still having some sleeping issues. I was really hoping to see some improvement this month, but we just aren't there yet. That is okay because she needs to work through it at her own pace. We are tired, but she makes it so worth it. Luckily, the night time waking and short day time naps don't seem to affect her personality what-so-ever. She is always happy!
She has been saying more words more clearly. Her newest words are up, down, sit, happy, sucker (which sounds more like sausage!). Most of the time we can understand her even if others probably could not! She is our little prayer, and will reach for our hands around the table! Sometimes she wants to pray multiple times while we are eating!
This little love bug gives the best hugs EVER! She has been coming up and giving hugs on her own and kisses too! Oh my...talk about melt your heart. So blessed that she can feel and express her love to us.
Some firsts this month included painting....
Playing at the playground.....I adore these little jeans with ruffles.
Going for a run with mommy and falling asleep in the jogging stroller.....
Eating peanut butter straight out of the jar......and loving it! (She takes after Papa Eric!)
Getting dressed in Steelers colors......(As part of Jeremy's going away gift from the plant they got him these jerseys, and made him promise to send pictures of him and Ava in them.)
Going on a first U.S. dinner date with Mommy and Daddy....the boys were at Awana's.
Receiving pictures from some precious ICC friends....we treasure all these pictures and additional bits of information about her time while in Hengyang.
Mastering coming down the steps....she is so proud of this new skill and new found freedom! And looking too big and grown up in these pictures......
Getting first hair cut....while she doesn't look happy, she did great! Not one fuss or cry!!!!
Meeting up with new Pittsburgh friends who we met while adopting Ava. Their son is from southern China. Can't wait to see them again! This relationship is so important for Ava and for us as adoptive parents.
Can't believe we have another month under our belts! What a blessing she is to us!!!!
Thank you for sharing all the adventures, happy times and milestones in the Schmidt family with her aunts and uncles!
ReplyDeleteMay you always be blessed with the good things in life!
Love,
Aunt S. & Uncle P.
