1st day of 1st Grade

Tuesday, August 27, 2013 was Trevor's 1st day of 1st Grade.  He was so excited and looking way too grown up!

Sigh...when did he get so big?
60.8 lbs and 4 ft 2 inches tall

Evan will start PreSchool next week

Trevor's 1st grade teacher is Miss Reynolds, and we found out that this is her first full time classroom. About a week after school started, she hosted the parents in her room for an orientation.  I was excited to go, meet her and hear her talk about her classroom.  Trevor raved about her the whole first week.  I will admit I was little nervous about having a 1st time teacher, but she totally impressed me in her meeting.  She is excited to be teaching, and I'm sure her exuberance has rubbed off on the kids.

That first day without Trevor was long, but we kept ourselves busy.  Ava had recently started climbing on things, and soon after Trevor left, I turned around and saw this........

Look at me!  I'm standing on the coffee table!

I couldn't figure out how she got up there, until she did it again. She was using her doll baby stroller as a step stool!

She's got some good balancing skills!

Soon it was time to wait for the bus to arrive at the end of the day.  Evan was so anxious for Trevor to come home.  He really missed his best friend.  He must have asked me 100 times that day if it "was time for Trevor to come home?"  I am so thankful for their friendship and love for each other.  What a blessing they are!

He had a great 1st day!

Trevor has had a great 1st month of 1st grade, and he is loving it!  His favorite subjects are Math and reading, he loves gym and recess.  He might also have his 1st crush as we have heard A LOT about a girl named Ali!
