I was greeted this morning with pictures from Ava's party and the care package we sent via Ann of Red Thread! It was a sight to behold seeing Ava with our family pillow! She looks kind of sad and forlorn in this picture, but I saw so happy to see pictures of her crib. They have blankets that look thick, and she has a big puppy stuffed animal to keep her company!

When are you coming? Oh I can't wait to scoop her up!
Part of the care package included Chinese candies. Here she is holding the bag. The thing that most struck me about this picture is that her hair is growing! Yippee!
Ava is sporting a pretty good sized bruise on her noggin - hope it is from attempts to walk.
I'm not completely sure how Ann makes all these arrangements and gets the packages to the orphanage. I believe she might order the cake from a local bakery or store. While we didn't get any pictures of her eating cake, we can see that she had lots of friends to help her celebrate.

See these forks in my hands...I'm ready to dig in!

Breaks my heart seeing all these kiddos around the table; Praying all these children will know the love of a forever family!
This last picture made me smile because she looks happy and content in this nanny's arms. She is even waving to the camera! We continue to pray that the Lord's protects her little spirit and heart, that the nannies can love on her to the best of their abilities, and that she is kept safe until we can go get her.

Hey Erin! Thanks for the comment on my blog! I'm now following yours :) Your little girl is a DOLL!!! Can't wait to see her story unfold! Take Care~ Rushton
ReplyDeleteThey did a great job capturing the moment for you! She looks just a little bit overwhelmed (or maybe underwhelmed) by it all!! Looks like she is getting very good care. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLove you - Mom
Is her Chinese name Yang Long Feng? I'm pretty sure. By the photos above she is in the care of International China Concern (ICC), I remember her. If you don't know this already please look them up on the internet. ICC international staff do need to be mindful of sharing information as we do not want to jeopardise the adoption process. Please know that she is very much loved. I have worked with them. When do you hope to be in China?
ReplyDeleteSorry , in addition to the above email I have looked at your previous entries. She is with International China Concern, a Christian organisation who are celebrating providing care to abandoned and disabled children in China for 20 years in May. They have lot's of videos and information on their website. The international nurses consult with medical staff internationally (mostly USA) in terms of surgery and medical care. Your daughter would have received the best medical care. ICC can provide medical information and the doctors details that they have consulted with. Ava is a very much loved member in Baby room 4. Ava is in a room with 7 other children as ICC provide a family group home model with consistency in the same caregivers (nannies). ICC is a wonderful organisation. I work for them as a long term international volunteer. All our Chinese staff and international volunteers love the children greatly. Unfortunately I had an injury and had to return to my home country for medical treatment six months ago, so I haven't seen Ava since she was smaller. I am hopeful to return in June. Praise God that she has you for her family, we hope that all the children in our care can have forever families.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for contacting me and commenting! Please feel free to email me at cor867@yahoo.com as I would love to talk with you more! I did just discover two days ago that Ava is part of the ICC program, and we are so thankful! Sounds like ICC is an amazing organization. I can't thank you enough for sharing some of these details about Ava, her living situation and the care she is receiving. It makes my heart sing!
