We decided to throw a birthday party for Trevor this year as we did not do one last year. We held the party a weekend after his birthday to avoid Halloween weekend. Turns out that Hurricane Sandy had other plans, and Trick or Treating was moved anyways. So Trevor had quite the day; a birthday party followed by Trick or Treating!
We decided to invite his whole kindergarten class so as to avoid hurt feelings. We ended up with 16 kids including our two boys so it was house full. I think everyone had fun, but it was quite chaotic. Trevor loves Angry Birds, and we decided to have an Angry Bird themed party.

I opted to make cupcakes instead of a cake; Trevor really wanted the Angry Bird rings! |
When all the kids arrived, we had them hunt for golden eggs through the house. They managed to seek them out in like 60 seconds! So we quickly moved on to our pinata. I knew we would probably be inside, so I found this re-useable pinata with pull strings. Trevor went first, and had no luck. Evan happened to be next, and pulled the right string. Out came all the candy! That took all of about 90 seconds! Yikes, we still have over an hour left :)

Once all the kids collected their candy, we headed downstairs to play the other two games. We split them into two groups because we had so many. The object of the first game was to build towers out of cardboard boxes, throw your angry bird and knock it down. I think it was a success! The second game involved Daddy's lovely created balloon pigs. The kids were supposed to throw their bird and hit the pigs. They loved it!

All of this playing made for some hungry and thirsty kids, so we headed up to sing Happy Birthday and have some cupcakes and snacks.

After cake and snacks, we opened presents. Trevor was blessed with many great gifts, and has enjoyed playing with all of them.

While a lot of work, it was fun to throw Trevor a party and celebrate his life. I know he had a great time and felt extra special.
