I can not believe the day has finally arrived that Trevor turned 5. He has been anxiously anticipating this day for a while now! When you are little, turning 5 is a big deal or so it seems. He likes to say he is a whole handful now (literally and figuratively)!
While today is technically his birthday, yesterday they celebrated his birthday at Park Preschool where he is student. They make birthdays so special there! The birthday kid gets to do all the jobs (line leader, feed the turtles, pick who gets to go next in activities, and squeak the beak to signal clean up time, and so on). Papa Eric was here for a visit, so he also got to come to school with us to help celebrate.

Opening circle time where Trevor is presented as the birthday kid. Mrs. Wilson is reminding the students that it is Trevor's "special day to sparkle!"
Receiving his hand painted number 5 which he wore all day at class.
Excited about the special sign by the door declaring his birthday!
Trevor wanted me to also take a picture of
his birthday cake that they hang inside the door!
Music class which involved a lot of motion, and
is lead by the assistant teacher Mrs. Davis. The kids loved it!
After music class, they all headed back upstairs to the activity part of their classroom. Trevor brought a present for his class to celebrate his birthday. He brought 3 chef hats and some hot pads to go in the kitchen area.
what is in the present
An important component of this preschool program is that the child decides whether they want to do their work first (little assignments that go with the weeks lesson theme; usually include coloring, painting, cutting, etc...) or play first. In the play area, the children must also have keys to enter different areas and work with other. After work/play time, it is snack time!
Trevor really enjoyed his birthday morning at preschool, and later that evening opened a few presents from Meemaw and Papa. Even Evan got a present!
All the birthday pics and narrative for both of Trevor's "birthdays" are great. So glad I could spend some very special time with all of you last week. Love you all so very much! Love, DAD (Papa)
