Wegerzyn Gardens

On Monday, July 26th, we all went to Wegerzyn Gardens in Dayton. It is a beautiful garden, and they have a children's garden with all sorts of activities. Right near the entrance, they have a water feature with a cave, waterfall, and stream. Children (and adults) are allowed to play and explore!

Playing in the water

Daddy found a cool, shady place to relax

Evan enjoyed climbing on the rocks

After playing in the water for a while, the boys decided to move on and find other activities. They first wandered through a bamboo maze, tried out the musicial instruments garden, and then headed to the sand play area.

Sand!

Evan played in the sand for a while
until he noticed this goat statue!

Hum...can I take him home?

At 2 pm a few park staff came out to feed the fish. I thought they would use the flake fish food, but they had live minnows! I thought the kids would be grossed out, but they had no qualms about holding those slippery, flippy little fishes. Trevor really enjoyed this, and I lost count of how many times he threw minnows.

Trevor throwing minnows;
notice the splash of water as the fish
surface to eat their tasty lunch!
