Trevor Update

As I sit here reflecting about Trevor, I am blown away by how much and how quickly he is changing. Since May, he has become potty trained (has had no accidents), gave up his pacifer, gave up naps - but now has quiet time where he listens to books on CD (most of the time!), is loving to color and do school with me, and has been belching A LOT! Luckily it is not obnoxious burps - he just seems to get a lot of air in his tummy. Maybe it is from all the talking and sound effects he likes to make?!?!

In early July, Trevor and I started doing some pre-K school while Evan was napping. At first, I was printing off activity sheets from the internet. While they were good, it took too long to download and print them, and we just flew through them. So I picked up some books at Borders, and Trevor is enjoying working in them. His ability to color in the lines, trace and write letters is really coming along.

I was impressed by how well he wrote his 3's.

Circling items with 3 things in them.

At Aunt Kirsten's Trevor loved to color, and I noticed that he was basically coloring the page with the same crayon. But he has begun to branch out, and is starting to color things in their appropriate color.

4 sheets where I thought he did a good job
staying in the lines and using more than one color.

So proud of his burning bush picture from Sunday School!
Trevor finished coloring it at home, attempted to
write his name on the bottom, and was excited that
he stayed within the lines so well!

Besides being a star pupil :), he continues to have lots of fun making things with TinkerToys, blocks, and using his imagination. Before our trip to Ohio, I thought it would be fun to make a rocket ship for Trevor out of a diaper box. One evening while I was teaching, Trevor and Daddy decorated it. He has had so much fun blasting around the house pretending to be an astronaut. Will have to see if we can find a costume to go with it for Halloween!

  1. Ooh, you should visit the Teacher's Aide store over on Congress Ave. near the mall. I just went for the first time this spring and they have GREAT stuff, the next time you need a new supply of activity books. LOVE the rocket ship.
